“Walking in the Desert” captures the quiet intensity of a landscape shaped by heat, distance, and time. Hand-thrown on the wheel, this sculptural stoneware vessel features layered glazes that flow and break across the surface like shifting desert horizons — deep iron blacks, sun-baked reds, mineral whites, and a subtle band of atmospheric blue-green.
The glaze movement is entirely kiln-born, creating organic drips and transitions that make each viewing angle feel like a different moment in the same journey. The softly shouldered form and narrowed neck offer both visual weight and balance, allowing the piece to function beautifully as a standalone object or as a vessel for dried stems or minimal florals.
Grounded, elemental, and quietly dramatic, this piece is designed to hold space — an object that invites pause.
Fired to ^6 Oxidation and all glazes are food-safe, microwave and dishwasher-safe. Dimensions: 5 1/2" at the neck, 7 1/8" at the widest part, x 5" in height.
